Labyrinth Challenge in the Programming and Robotics Club – First Steps!

During today’s session, students were tasked with programming a robot in Open Roberta to navigate its way out of a maze. This activity forms part of the eTwinning Code4Kids project, which is being developed in partnership with five schools in Turkey to promote collaboration and team learning.

First, we imported the maze mat and its settings into the simulator. Then, following the rules available on the project’s website, the students dived into programming. Not everything went as expected — there were a few setbacks — but discussion, persistence and teamwork were essential for overcoming obstacles and making progress.

We haven’t reached the final solution yet, but each attempt has provided valuable learning opportunities. Next week, we’ll continue exploring strategies to guide the robot to the exit!

It was a fun and challenging session in which everyone learnt a lot. We can’t wait for the next one!
